2010 News Blast

To those who have not able to follow the big events of 2010, I have made a compilation of the most talks and most controversial issues all over the world.

Philippines
GMA7, one of the biggest news network in the country, have come up with the calendar of news that has happened not only in the Philippines but also in other parts of the world. The year 2010 has been very controversial to different personalities, be it in politics, star movies and local individuals. One of the most followed events during this year was the May presidential election, the newly elected President Noynoy Aquino and the acquittal of Hubert Webb. 1.  Haiti Earthquake - the world was awaken by magnitude 7 earthquake on January 12 that leaves thousands of dead and injured people and million worth of devastated property.

2. BP Oil Spill - one the biggest oil spill in the history of petroleum industry. Started in April, the spill in the Gulf of Mexico flowed for about 3 months and released about 4.9 million barrels of crude oil.

3. The World Cup -  19th FIFA World Cup was held in South Africa and dominated by the Spanish. Viva Espana! This is also historical since this is the first African country to host the finals.

6. EU Financial Crisis - The economies of Ireland, Portugal, Greece and Spain threaten to consume Billions of Euros in bailouts.

7. The Apple Invasion - The release of the Apple's Ipad recorded high acceptance despite financial crisis.

8. The Changing Environment - Snow in Europe, Floods in Pakistan.

9. Chilean Miners - The dramatic saga and rescue of 33 miners after spending more then two months underground.

10. Wikileaks - The controversial release of thousands of US government cables that provided the media access on the secret messages about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
